Vava Venezia Dellert

Vava Venezia Dellert is an award-winning American contemporary visual artist based in Italy, presenting her work in Venice during the period of the 2026 Venice Biennale.

Working across conceptual photography, cinematic portraiture and digital mixed media, she creates evocative works exploring identity, memory, resilience, femininity and transformation. Her practice combines cinematic storytelling with symbolic imagery, drawing inspiration from surrealism, fashion-editorial aesthetics and cultural mythology.

For selected self-depiction projects, she works under the artistic pseudonym MISS SELFIE. Her first project under this name, Selfish-Selfies #MeToo, was presented at the Florence Biennale in 2021. Her current project, MISS SELFIE: MARILYN 100, reinterprets Marilyn Monroe through the artist’s own likeness, identity and lived experience.

Through carefully constructed scenes, expressive lighting and visual symbolism, Venezia presents the female figure as both subject and cultural symbol, examining vulnerability, strength and the changing nature of self-image.

Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private collections.
