Veronica Olariu

As an architect feeling overwhelmed by digital overload, I turned to nature and ecosomatic arts to reconnect with my creativity. My work explores the instinctive relationship between the body and the earth, and how reconnecting with both can reshape the self and the built environment. Guided by the idea that the body is “an open circuit that completes itself only in things, in others, in the encompassing earth” (David Abram), I use a range of mediums—photography, alternative processes, poetry, ecosomatic practices, craft and object design—to explore what home, habitat, and belonging mean on a personal and material level.
Originally from Transylvania, Romania, I am currently based in Thailand.
