EXHIBITIONS

Victoria Lazareva is a contemporary artist working in various painting styles, with Lavism as her primary and preferred direction. This style is rooted in plein air painting, capturing subjects directly from nature.

Paint is applied to the canvas using a palette knife or brush, creating a distinctive painterly texture. The colorful mass—resembling lava—solidifies on the canvas, forming expressive, almost fantastical interpretations of nature. The shimmering, fluid quality of the paint and color creates a particular atmosphere and emotional depth. The result is a richly colored, textured, semi-sculptural surface.

By depicting nature through a fluid, dynamic substance, the artist captures form without relying on linear, constructive drawing. This approach allows for a strong sense of color and a unique surface quality.

Victoria works with acrylic and oil paints, acrylic texture pastes, as well as organic, eco-friendly texture pastes of her own formulation. Her paintings are ready for interior display and do not require additional framing.

Her works are held in private collections in Russia, Israel, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and the United States.

Victoria Lazareva graduated from the renowned S.G. Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry in 2005.

She has been a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia and the International Federation of Artists since 2008.

Her paintings have been exhibited in galleries in Moscow, Tver, Italy, China, and the United Kingdom.

One of her works is part of the permanent collection of the M. E. Saltykov-Shchedrin Museum in Tver, Russia.

She has participated in group exhibitions in Moscow, Russia.

Victoria has taken part in solo and group exhibitions at the Dacha Gallery in Moscow, where she was an artist-in-residence.

She has also participated in “Kvartirniks”—a Russian format of private studio exhibitions hosted by fellow artists—where her Lavism works were presented.

Her work was exhibited at the Valentin Sidorov Museum in Tver, Russia, as part of the Na Tyoploy Zemle (“On the Warm Earth”) project.
