I was born in Singapore at a time when she was still a developing third world country. Being a part of Gen X, I had the opportunity to observe the joys and woes as we transition into a developed country and global financial hub. As we continue to evolve, amidst the glooming shadows of globalization, many of us often face moments of contemplation, despair, doubt, fear, hopelessness, loneliness and other nerve-wrecking emotions. Regardless of whether a person is rich or poor, young or old, healthy or sick, most of us are not spared from these dreadful emotions. But even in the darkest nights and loneliest corners the cinders of Love will continue to burn and the morning light of Hope will eventually arrive.
The spirit of holding onto Hope, in times of despair, greatly influenced my artistic development. And it forms my affinity to harsh lightings and sombre mood. I use photographic images and when necessary, composites, so as to transcend beyond traditional photography and to fully express my creative intentions. "Each creation is like a child to me ... precious and unique."

I started photography in 1988, after an unexpected encounter with a prominent local photographer at that time. I was under his tutelage for a few years and later I also had training in oil painting. I combined my learning and knowledge of the two mediums in the years after. All these time, I've never been able to fully express my surrealist artistic creations until the onset of the digital age. I've never looked back!
I also wrote articles on photography and arts management, lecture, mentor art students at tertiary level and I regularly judged in both local and international competitions. My works have been published in both Asian and European Travel magazines. --- "A photograph shares a synchronous relationship between the photographer, the subject, the subject's environment and the viewer." - VL
I've more than 140 images exhibited globally in 40 countries. Just in 2015, I've won 2 Royal Photographic Society Gold Medals, 2 Photographic Society of America Gold Medals, 1 Gold Medal from International Association of Art Photographers, 3 other Gold Medals, Silver and Bronze Medals from the International Federation of Photographic Artists(FIAP is an UNESCO member), Global Photographic Union and etc. Altogether, in just 2015, I've won more than 30 International Medals and 35 Honorable Mentions. I've also won a medal from the Japan Asahi Shimbun Press International Photography Competition where there is only a 0.49% for an oversea participant to be awarded a medal.
