Virginia Castillo

Born in Buenos Aires and now based in Los Angeles, Virginia Castillo creates paintings designed to be felt—grounded, calming, and infused with a sense of wonder for the natural world.

Her work draws its color palette and rich textures from nature—earth, stone, water, and light—transforming these elements into immersive visual experiences. Through organic surfaces and layered compositions, Castillo seeks to create pieces that bring a sense of stillness to a space, encouraging a slower breath, quiet reflection, and a deeper connection to the beauty that surrounds us. She is particularly inspired by nature’s honesty: the weathered, imperfect, and ever-evolving forms shaped by time and the elements.

Although art has been a constant presence in her life since childhood in Buenos Aires, Castillo’s professional artistic journey began in 2021 in Los Angeles. Motherhood to three boys sparked a profound creative awakening, inspiring a renewed exploration of identity, growth, and self-expression. Through her evolving body of work, she shares this journey of discovery while inviting viewers to experience moments of calm, connection, and wonder within their own spaces.
