Volodia Mesa Alvarez

In my works, I explore three main themes: contemporary social reality, the beauty and care of the ecosystem, and biblical passages that have shaped my life. These themes weave together throughout my pieces, creating symbiotic dialogues that invite viewers to take an active role, searching for—and discovering—their own reality.

I began studying Visual Arts at the age of 19, in workshops held at the Casa de Cultura de Cienfuegos, Benjamín Duarte. Later, in 2001, I deepened my knowledge through the training I received from artist and educator Marisol Fernández Granados, in her community art project “Huellas” in Cruces, Cienfuegos, which I became a part of in 2002.
