Vladimir Shir is a contemporary painter and sculptor whose practice emerges from exile, memory, and revelation. Working primarily in oil, watercolor, and stone, he creates powerful works that fuse symbolism, mysticism, and contemporary identity. His paintings are born alla prima, without sketches, as direct revelations that carry both intimate wounds and universal archetypes.
In addition to painting, Shir is also a stone carver, creating miniature sculptures from jadeite, turquoise, and other rare minerals. His dual practice unites fine art and sacred craftsmanship, offering a dialogue between fragility and endurance, vision and matter.
Shir’s works have been exhibited internationally in Europe and the United States, and are held in municipal, ecclesiastical, and private collections worldwide.
