I’m Siouxsie Wild-Cross, a London-based artist dedicated to bringing untold stories and complex emotions to life through portraiture. Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by the human face and the layers of meaning it can hold. My work is deeply inspired by historical research and personal storytelling, focusing especially on the often-overlooked narratives of women. Using richly detailed oil paints on wood panel and canvas, I blend classical techniques with contemporary themes to create portraits that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
Every painting I create is layered with symbolism and crafted to invite viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with the subject’s humanity and legacy. I believe art should do more than decorate a space—it should spark meaningful conversations and provoke thought. By combining texture, light, and intricate detail, I strive to build a bridge between past and present, history and identity.
My goal is to offer collectors pieces that not only captivate the eye but also speak to the heart—works that become personal treasures and catalysts for deeper understanding.
I earned a BTEC National Diploma with triple distinction in Fine Art and Contextual Studies from Barking &Dagenham College, where I developed a strong passion for the historical research and critical analysis aspects of art. This foundation deepened my understanding of art history and inspired much of my creative work. I then advanced my studies at University of the Arts London, Wimbledon, specializing in Technical Arts and Special Effects. There, I honed practical skills in sculpting and various creative techniques, broadening my artistic expertise and technical proficiency.
Featured in the University of the Arts London, Wimbledon Special Effects Degree Show, a key platform for emerging artists to present their work. Additionally, my painting Anne Boleyn was proudly showcased by The Tudor Society and exhibited at The Kings Gallery in Stratford-upon-Avon — a prestigious venue renowned for its dedication to historical art and cultural heritage. This opportunity highlighted my passion for historical portraiture and allowed me to connect with audiences interested in the rich narratives behind my subjects.
