William Joseph Blake is an Irish artist who moved to London as a child with his father and sister. He spent his early years in County Wexford, in a charming seaside village called Riverchapel. He enjoyed exploring, and this has played an important role in shaping his appreciation of the natural world.
He finds starting a project is occasionally hard, namely the decision on what to paint or draw. Whether landscape, portrait, abstract, collage or still life, all can be achieved! When he starts a project, he often looks at photographs he has taken, uses the internet, reads books or just sketches. He also finds, even setting up the room can be challenging. Art requires a great deal of attention, demanding space and a sense of peace to be inspired by. Music is often pure inspiration, allowing him to relax and focus. He also finds getting away from the usual environment helps a great deal.
William has also just released his first children's book called Billie's Day Out. The story is about a witch called Billie and her friends. Unfortunately, there are some bad witches who meet them.
