William Gray

My father started teaching me photography in my teens, and introduced me to the darkroom where we worked on our photos. He taught me how to see and begin to capture images that evoked the beauty to be seen in the world.
My mother started teaching me painting early and left me with the pleasant lifetime memory of the odor of linseed oil and turpentine.
My wife, daughters, and son through their own work and encouragement continue to inspire me to relax and follow my heart enough to be a more effective artist, and to pursue the full range of visual and verbal tools available to me.
My teacher has taught how to access the place within me where all beauty resides and continues to encourage me to enjoy that place and allow it to color my life with joy and gratitude.
