Lee Woojun

Woojun Lee’s practice looks at how people become connected to places and how those connections gradually fade. Human perception can be extremely sensitive to small changes in the surrounding environment, but it can also become less responsive when exposed to too much information over time. Lee is interested in this unstable condition and in the way certain sensations remain while others disappear.

His work considers how people perceive the world and how these experiences form what he calls an illusory landscape. This landscape is shaped by present sensation, memory, distance, and the movement of the body through space.
