Carol Anne Jones

A Practice Shaped by Movement.

I am a visual artist working across photography, collage, print and painting.

Born in Scotland and raised in Malawi and Yorkshire, my early experiences of different places and cultures continue to influence my work. I have also lived and worked in England, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, China and Egypt.

My practice explores time, place and space, shaped by experiences of movement, change and transition.

I work in series, with each body of work developing from the one before it to create an evolving visual narrative. I combine photography, drawing, paint, collage and digital manipulation to create layered images that move between the real and the imagined.

My work draws on personal experience, memory and observation, alongside influences from literature, history, contemporary culture and ancient civilisations.
