Lino Spada

With a background in industrial design, I have developed an analytical approach to proportions and spatial relationships, which I apply to my painting and sculpture.
Since 2013, my work has been structured around thematic cycles that explore materials and memory. In the *Radici* (Roots) collection, I created wall-mounted sculptures that engage with the surrounding space, interpreting the traces of nature and the experiences gathered during mountain hikes. In the *Frammenti* (Fragments) and *Sanniti* (Samnites) series, I incorporated reclaimed objects from rural traditions to evoke mythological symbols and offer critical, political reflections on Italy’s cultural heritage. My experimentation continues with the *Ritmi* (Rhythms) series, where I translate the musical emotion of various genres—ranging from jazz to progressive rock—into painterly collages. My painting practice also includes the *Genesis* series: studies of geometric forms that shift and overlap, defining the compositional structure while conveying an emotional message.
