About Alice Wyan

My work explores issues of identity, meaning, and the passage of time, and is often informed by conceptual art and thinking, as well as ideas and conception of space and material interactions taken from my background as a theoretical physicist.

Some very strong influences are abstract expressionism, particularly color field painters, European informal artists, such as Antoni Tàpies and Miquel Barceló, and Gerhard Richter.
