Xavier Perez

A visual artist and graphic designer based in Palamós, my work is a constant journey between the pictorial traditions of any era in art history and a contemporary, often ironic, and vibrant gaze. With a solid technical foundation forged in graphic design and the use of cutting-edge audiovisual technologies, my creative process currently focuses on exploring the face and the human figure through the expressiveness of color, seeking to capture the psychological essence of characters via a radically free figuration.

Recently, my production has been enriched by an eclectic research that draws from various avant-garde and transformative movements of the 20th century. This aesthetic investigation has led me to develop series such as 'Lady Hot,' where I reinterpret classic themes—such as the female portrait and the symbolic use of the hat—under an optics that blends modernist decadence with surrealism and the boldest pop.

I understand painting as an exercise in visual honesty where detail—a gaze, a texture, or an unexpected chromatic contrast—becomes the absolute protagonist of the narrative.
