I am a mixed-media artist based in Sacramento, California. My work begins with an unlikely material — Amazon shipping boxes. Layers of corrugated cardboard are cut, shaped, and hardened with resin into sculptural relief works that carry the weight and texture of stone.
My artistic foundation is rooted in traditional Korean ink painting, where negative space is as intentional as the mark itself. That philosophy carries through every piece: what is left empty is not absence, but breath.
My work explores themes of perseverance, natural energy, and the quiet power of transformation — the idea that something discarded can become something permanent. These themes drew the attention of Amazon's Sustainability division, who invited me to hold a solo exhibition at their Seattle headquarters.
I graduated from Hongik University with a BFA and MFA in Korean Traditional paintings.
