Yoanna Nobel studied autonomous visual arts and graphic design at the royal academy of fine arts in The Hague.
In her latest works ‘Behind the curtains’, Yoanna Nobel is inspired by the inner world of man.
Her technique and choice of materials are highly dependent on the subject and the characters on her canvas. Yoanna Nobel calls herself an "experimental artist" and does not like being limited by a certain technique.
Every day she is busy looking for new materials and techniques to give her work more life and magic. Creating and experimenting go together.
With her work Yoanna tries to visualize the duality between the visible and the invisible world.

The story begins with a little girl who is convinced that life is a fairy tale.
Everything she sees, smells and feels, she translates in her own unique way.
She believes that trees talk, the moon has eyes, the wind brings secret messages that you can only hear when you listen to her.
The sea is a hidden paradise where fish, seahorses, whales, angels, water monsters and sea gods play and sometimes are at war with each other.
