Yuning Zheng is a contemporary ink artist based in Nanjing, China.
Working within the language of traditional Chinese landscape painting, Zheng reconstructs ink for the present moment. His compositions are structured, restrained, and quietly intense. Mountains appear less as scenery and more as psychological terrain.
His award-winning work “The Bridge Remains Through Changing Seas and Fields” reflects his central concern: permanence within change.
Through layered ink washes and disciplined brushwork, Zheng creates spatial tension between memory and modernity. His practice positions classical ink painting not as heritage, but as a living, evolving form.
Professional training in traditional Chinese ink painting and calligraphy.
Decades of studio practice, academic exchange, and curatorial leadership.
