Zayn Yasri

Zayn is a contemporary artist based in Turkey, originally from Mesopotamia, whose journey with art began at an early age and grew into a lifelong pursuit of meaning through color. His first academic step was at the Fine Arts faculty of Babylon University, where he laid the foundation of his artistic practice. Although he later chose a different path and moved to the United Arab Emirates, art never left him. There, he worked in a private gallery dedicated to supporting emerging artists and building bridges with international exhibitions — an experience that deepened his understanding of the art world and the dialogue between cultures.

Oil painting is at the very core of his practice. For Zayn, painting is inseparable from life; it is not only an act of creation but a form of expression where emotions, stories, and resilience come alive on canvas. His works often reflect moments of human struggle and beauty, and above all, a strong attachment to his cultural roots. He believes a painting can convey emotions and truths that words or moving images cannot, and it is this conviction that gives his canvases their intensity and depth.
