RECOGNITION
Zixin Yan is a London-based artist exploring the quiet emotions, relationships and uncertainties of everyday life. Her paintings often begin with people she encounters, ordinary moments she notices, or memories she wants to hold on to.
Born in Romania and raised in China, she has lived between different cultures, developing a curiosity about how people connect, struggle and understand one another.
Working across painting, sculpture and experimental materials, she moves between recognisable figures and more abstract forms. Her practice is shaped by continuous observation and making, with each artwork leading to new questions and discoveries.
She holds an MRes in Fine Arts from the Royal College of Art and a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, London.
