About The Artwork
Novruz Bairam Series are dedicated to the four nature forces, four Wednesdays that precede March 21 st – a vernal equinox and a holiday of upcoming spring. My Water painting (azure) was the first of the four. The water, one of 4 natural forces, in Zoroastrism symbolizes purity. Water is important for life and is a life itself. Only after I painted the second one – the Wind (yellow) – I felt that I painted them under the influence of the upcoming holiday. Warm colors in the Wind are the colors of Absheron peninsula. Fire is the most important of four natural forces, was holy for people who followed Zaratushta (Zoroast) in his teaching of fire worshipping. Azerbaijan got its name from ancient world "Adurbadaqan"("The Land of Fire") and was one of the centers of Ancient religion. The Soil is the painting on which I want to show the fertility and richness of my Homeland, but since I am a nomad for the last 7 years, the Soil painting is still "pending". The national music performed my Alim Gasimov was helping me to express the feelings of admiration and excitement towards Azerbaijan and its culture.

I am an artist by nature and a strategy consultant on my business card. Luckily enough, only half of Sufi poet Nesimi's line "both worlds can fit within me, but in this world I cannot fit" is true in my case: after seven years of inactivity, I'm back to "self-expressionism". Mostly learning by doing and trying, I experiment with glass and reflections, words and codes, color and crafts. Sometimes we choose other ways to express the feelings rather than words. For me, painting is an escape, self-expression, stress relief, and a source of good mood - all in one. My new devotion are fragile media - glasses and mirrors - on which I depict my "monologues dialogues". Recently, I have started an innovative way of merging art with new ways of communication. Apart from "traditional" abstract paintings on glass, I code my thoughts or lines from favorite poems as tricky labyrinths on glass. Each painting is also a QR code, so if you have a smartphone and a QR code reader application, you can go beyond simply looking at the photos of my glass paintings. Only right lighting and equipment allows a viewer to read a true story behind colors and small dots and to get the real essence of my objects.
