Vera Komnig, born and raised in Germany, studied graphic design and currently lives in a charming small town on the edge of the Ruhr area. She earned her diploma at a renowned art school, where she was trained by well-known professors such as Professor Kirschner and Professor Moog. Her abstract, informal art is characterized by expressive colors, powerful, intuitively set lines that stretch across the canvas, in harmony with spirited narrative power through expressively set brushstrokes. Vera Komnig loves playing with contrasts, with light and shadow, with shine and roughness and thus creates an immense variety of visual effects. These contrasts give her works additional expressive dynamics and a fascinating tension. Vera Komnig likes to experiment with different materials to realize her artistic vision, using many different materials such as metal, canvas, stone, or wood and combining them with acrylic or oil, enamel, spray paint, chalk to create her works with different textures and enrich surfaces. This variety of materials gives her works an additional tactile dimension.
