Summer Moon Painting

The image is of a coastal scene very local & familiar to me. It shows the shingle bank fringing the Solent at low tide, dusk is descending, the moon has just risen into the streaked sky as the sun sets over my shoulder. On the horizon sits the lifeboat station and No Man's Land Fort guarding the entrance to the Solent. The right horizon looks towards Ryde on the Isle of Wight. The image captures the feeling of the serenity of a warm, calm, late summer evening. This artwork is painted with a combination of palette knife and brush in acrylics onto a canvas board and has a subtle texture giving a sense of form and movement. The canvas is loose mounted in a quality 60 x 80 cm birch frame, ready to hang.
