This is my Stamp Loupe Art: Unique hand made one of a kind detailed assemblage work on an original postage stamp, framed in a magnifying glass. Miniature and surprising, a conversation piece, easy to hang. You have never seen anything like it! My body of work is based on images of the mass media. I use ready-made materials such as magazine clippings, old photographs, and reproductions. In the past years, I have been focusing on collage/assemblage stamp series. The practice of collage is a mean to display representations of gender and to subvert the values and ideologies that lay in those images. This artistic technique enables to reveal the true nature of representations in the media, stereotypes of women and unrealistic standards. Stamp collections function as a major source of raw material with a vast and long historical background with social and political connotations. With that being said, it can also be a miniature, colorful, and inspiring host of wild possibilities, pleasure and amusement.
