ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is part of an on-going series of collages in various styles and subject matter. The aim of this assemblage of cut-out pieces of papers was simply to create a colourful, whimsical dadaesque overall imagery, with a touch of cubist-like geometric patterns. It is made up of a black acrylic painted background, my own torn up black and coloured ink marks on white paper, my own watercolour drawing of chrysanthemums on Chinese rice paper, my photo of my own acrylic painted portrait of a clown, various found papers and typed texts and single letters---all adhered onto a thin sheet of backboard . It is hoped that the particular over-all imagery conveyed by this colourful and whimsical Collage will attract the attention of any viewer. And once appropriately Matted and Framed by the Buyer, it will be suitable to hang anywhere, either by itself or among other artworks.
