ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Coronaville is a surreal black comic opera of the Coronvirus pandemic's effect on a group of suburbanites in America. Dark, dystopian, Coronaville is a published book available on Blurb. VIDEO INTERVIEW ABOUT THE MAKING OF CORONAVILLE with THE ART BLOG: https://youtu.be/e-u9r7y_tVg The book is 62 pages, softcover, color, and includes 40 full page episodes. It is highly collectible – especially signed. It's inexpensive ($22.97) and easy to acquire via the postal system. As of today about 150 copies have been sold; people have screamed then cried with laughter. The original collage works are not for sale. Sale is only possible through the Blurb site for the time being. Anyone who does purchase via Blurb should contact me on Instagram () to request a signed book plate, which I will mail to you free. Here's the link to purchase: THanks... there is a free preview on the blurb site. Best, MR

MATTHEW ROSE lives and works in Paris, France. Known widely for his collage works and wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor installations, he graduated from Brown University (1981) with a degree in Semiotics/Linguistics. Influenced by Americans Ray Johnson, Jasper Johns, Joseph Cornell and a handful of French surrealists, Rose works late hours ripping apart paper and bits of text to remake contemporary life into a specific, yet unbound book, what the artist calls his “theory of everything.” "Most of my work involves collage; I cut and paste in all flavors. But I draw, paint, sculpt, find, assemble and put together words as well. I'm always working, I never close." CURRENTLY: Published Coronaville. A graphic novella about the Trump Pandemic.
