This work is part of the series "Iconos Mexicanos" (Mexican icons), in which I do a tribute to iconic Mexican caracteres, after almost 20 years living in México. "Emiliano Zapata" was a leading figure in the Mexican revolution, who first fought for the land to belong to the people who cultivated it. His most famous quote is: "It's better to die standing than live on your knees." Zapata is a historical character known throughout the world, a symbol of the struggle for land and freedom, so it seemed important to dedicate a work to him.
