I have been a photographer and a painter for my entire career.
My most recent body of work, Mixed Media, combines these two elements.
The connection and interplay of the literal photographic image and the fluid inconsistency of the paint instill a dream-like quality to my art. Cutting, tearing, and taping images to the canvas, constantly rearranging their placement, adding and subtracting, sometimes shooting new imagery when the piece asks for something “more”, walking away and returning all conspire to reveal the story embedded in the canvas.
A lifetime in New York City has influenced my art. The city is forever stimulating and chaotic, and I find inspiration everywhere. My urban art is combined with my imagery of travels around the world.
