About The Artwork
I am inspired by artists like Sigmar Polke, Laura Owens, and Charles Burchfield. I started this painting by finding an advertisement from World War II (possibly a public announcement) with the tagline If War Gass Falls From The Sky. I took the advertisement and glued it to the wood panel and then I began to react to it. The reactions ranged from pouring paint, covering parts with fabric, and merely obliterating areas with more easily digestible imagery. This series represents a snapshot of my interpretation of what it feels to be unheard by those in power.
