About The Artwork

This piece is inspired by the Japanese God Kakaku, which is considered the River God. I wanted to embody a fluid water-like expression. I tend to use layers of paper, vellum, dichroic film, dowels, and spray painted textures in my work.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Aimee Thieu is a self-taught paper artist living and creating in Los Angeles, Calif. Her work—the result of intricately manipulated and layered hand-cut paper—often serves as a visual and ornate representation of the relationship between structure and creativity. In her three-dimensional paper works, Thieu mixes geometric, rigid lines and shapes with more organic, dream-like, liquid-inspired forms and textures in order to create a correlation between the two worlds. Much of the inspiration for her work comes from her interest in architectural design, unique textiles, space and light, traditional origami folds, and anomalies in nature.
