Faces, text, and color are fractured, shifted, layered and obscured with an ephemeral spontaneity, suggesting hidden emotional memories. A painter for many years, Bortolini abandoned the medium in favor of the fresh energy and expression of décollage. Born in Treviso, Italy, he now divides his time between Stockholm, Sweden and Italy.
