Hello, my name is Iryna Artus. I am a Ukrainian artist. I was born and raised in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, where I also got my education. After finishing high school, I completed High Artist College. Then, I graduated from the Precarpathian University of Vasyl Stephanyk, an Institute of Art. There I received a Mastor's Degree in Fine art. While I was studying, my passion was painting, and dedicated most of my study to it. That is why I have chosen painting as my specialty. At the end of my study at the University, beyond painting, I developed an interest in the culture of paper cutting. Having acquired a solid base of knowledge of different techniques, colors, and compositions, I started practicing paper cutting art myself. As with my oil paintings, plants and nature still life motifs have become the main themes of my paper cutting art. I am inspired by the beauty of nature, particularly the plasticity of leaves and stems of flowers, the combination of herbs, and distinct forms of stones. My interest in these elements, I believe, was born from my experience tending to the beautiful garden adjacent to my house in the city. This allowed me to always have the opportunity to be inspired by the beauty of nature, without having to leave my house. I also love the art of photography, which has really helped me in creating my artworks. It is not only a form of therapy, but an opportunity to preserve memories that inspire my paper cuts and oil paintings. I find the process of material preparation, researching compositions, and sketching the most satisfactory aspects of the art making process. On some occasions, I search for my inspiration in my own photography shots. Other times, I directly paint from nature, simply by sitting in my garden. If you are also in love with nature, its silhouettes, and the platic-looking aspects of nature, I invite you to follow up on my page and activity. Some of my pieces have already found their owners in Ukraine, in other European countries, and in the USA. So you can become an owner of a exclusive and unique piece of artwork too, submit an order.
