ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Collage of ink on paper, colored paper, paper, cotton and silk threads, silk and felt. From my series "LA Dreaming": Paper-cut silhouettes from LA-based film and TV, and hand-drawn monotone insects indigenous to or otherwise found in California, are set against a backdrop of handmade papers from different parts of the world, and embellishments made of hand-embroidered silk. This work features an El Segundo blue (Euphilotes battoides allyni), you'll find her only in Los Angeles in a few sites, one of which is at LAX.
