ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Hovering over the abstraction, Dana is creating visual poetic spaces, mostly using a very new technique which she is experimenting with for the last few years. You can study how it was painted, but Dana hopes that the viewers will feel the paintings with their hearts rather than with their brains. The layers of painted silk are interspaced with the acrylics and other materials; some layers are transparent or translucent, some opaque, some shiny, some mat, which gives her pieces infinity of hues and shades of colors.

Dana finished her Degree in Architecture and engineering in Prague, Czechoslovakia and soon emigrated to Canada. She worked as an architect for 10 years before she switched to art. In 1998 Dana moved to Canmore in Canadian Rocky Mountains. Now she works in acrylics, mixed media, and textiles. Dana wants her viewers to feel her paintings with their hearts similar to listening a poetry. Dana won awards for her art locally, nationally and internationally. Dana's hobbies are mountaineering, skiing, hiking and climbing.
