This highly collaged acrylic painting on a canvas support is another of my Covid 19 series. In this piece, I painted three figures sitting against a support showing them isolated and alone. Are they feeling isolated? Unhappy? It is difficult to say but for me, the figures represent the many people who have been forced to isolate during this world wide pandemic. The neutral palette and textured background reflect what it feels like to be isolated. The figures have lost the companionship of others. .The style is expressive with identical figurative shapes( we are all in the same situation) separated from each other diagonally.

Myra Evans is a visual artist living and working in Toronto, Canada and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. After retiring from a long, rewarding career as a high school teacher and administrator, Myra discovered the joys of painting, especially using water media. After 15 years of creating impressionistic water colour portraits, she is now experimenting with acrylics, pastels ,hand made paper, collage/texturizing techniques, inks and watercolours. Exploring abstraction using figurative images with alternative mediums has been an on-going adventure. Her time and energy has been focused on developing as a painter. Art making for Myra is a life long process.
