Stuart Hudgins is a multimedia artist, illustrator and film archivist. He has worked as a film consultant to Sony Music Entertainment and the BBC. His illustrations appeared regularly in the feature section and editorial pages of the Baltimore Sunpapers and various publications including: The Black Scholar Journal and Stereo Magazine (a Japanese weekly). His interviews include: Ray Charles, Lena Horne, Cab Calloway, Dizzy Gillespie, Betty “BeBop” Carter, Oscar Brown Jr., Wynton Marsalis, Taj Mahal, Toots and the Maytals and Zydeco master, Clifton Chenier. His film programs highlight the creative efforts of African American musicians, directors and producers and have been presented at the Kennedy Center, The Apollo Theater and numerous jazz festivals. The most memorable of these programs introduced live performances and film featuring: Cab Calloway, Dizzy Gillespie, Dr. Billie Taylor, Wynton Marsalis and Oscar Brown Jr.
