About The Artwork
I am inspired by artists like Sigmar Polke, Laura Owens, and Charles Burchfield. I started this painting by finding a detective novel titled, The Lump In My Pants Means I Love You. After I reproduced the cover on canvas I then began to react to it. The reactions ranged from pouring paint, covering parts with fabric, and merely obliterating areas with more easily digestible imagery. This series represents a snapshot of my interpretation of what it feels to be unheard by those in power.
