Tide Pool Pinks Collage

I have had a daily painting pratice for almost 30 years and before that I was a tapestry weaver. I have works in corporate collections: the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa, Ernst and Young, Satelite Health Care of Mountain View California, Chugai - Upjohn , and Sterling Drug Inc. , The Hyatt Regency,Beaver Creek,Co. and recently a new Capital One Office with 6 paintings. I have paintings in houses that were featured in House Beautiful, Santa Barbara Magazine and Colorado Homes and Lifestyles Magazine . Using printed material from design magazines, I cut shapes and rearrange pieces to make studies for paintings. I believe that paint has a language of its own, in addition to the image. Thru building up layers, adding and subtracting, a painting gains substance and content . My work is about transformation and how things go together. Meaning comes from the process of painting, color harmony, the emotional integrity and alchemy of the process, My interpretation of nature is scruffy, romantic and non sentimental.
