Each cut and paste collage was made from collected imagery and many key elements are from my very large stack of LIFE magazines dated between 1948 and 1960. I chose these years because of the ads and fashion styles as well as what was going on culturally in the world.

The artwork here illustrates Stephen's unique style of self-portraiture and straight photography, as well as showcases his work with alternative processes, mixed media, and large-scale photomontage. Stephen has also been recently working with paper collage, and a few of the results are shown here. Stephen is adjunct faculty at the Institute of Art and Design at New England College and is on the Board of Directors at the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset, MA.
