Tri Star Pink Arch Collage

I explore collage as a medium of drawing/painting using vintage children's books/ephemera, no photocopies or digital manipulation. All intricately hand cut, no laser cutting, and meticulously layered using archival glue stick and diluted wallpaper paste applied w/a very small brush. Tri Star Pink Arch is the chosen title working off of specific elements within the composition. As with all my layered collages other images are carefully placed, hidden, revealed... as with the blonde boy leaning forward looking in or the partial blue chicken cartoon character echoing the pink arch, hatted w/fishing rod and big fish over his back! Shapes within a shape. Everything held together and balanced. Swirling movement and stillness, hovering in the dark. So much in such a little space!
