Fragments of time is a series of little artworks, which are created by combining different materials: bees wax and oil paint, old papers and found items. Some of the objects carry signs of lifelong use. Once probably loved and used by someone, these things have lost their meaning and were discarded.

By including these found objects in my art, I give them a new meaning and let them tell new stories.

Every piece is this series is a one of a kind.

The artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

The body is wood and ready to hang on your wall.

Susanne Helmert is a self-taught photographer and mixed media artist, living and working in Hamburg, Germany. After her graduation in Social Work, Susanne Helmert devoted herself to photography. She started capturing still lifes of nature and landscapes in a very intimate and personal fashion. From 2010 onwards her works are now dominated by a new subject matter: Places which are forlorn and forsaken by humanity. Fascinated by the social and aesthetic phenomenon of the transformation of buildings abandoned to their fate, Susanne Helmert captures not only what she sees, but also the mood she perceives to create striking images. Some of her photographs, she uses to create unique works of mixed media art. Inspired by the decaying signage she finds in the abandoned buildings, Susanne Helmert uses a special technique to alter the look and feel of her photographs. This involves printing the image, whose surface is then treated with a mixture of beeswax and damar resin, oil paint and heat to create a three dimensional optic with a picturesquely feel. Over the past six years she has shown her works nationally and internationally at art fairs, exhibitions and other art projects.
