Step into 'Twilight Toasts' - a digital watercolor window into yesteryear where laughter is aged and wisdom flows like ale. This painting is not just art; it's a conversation across generations, a silent toast to the days gone by. Imagine a place where time pauses - 'Twilight Toasts' captures that in watercolor. As part of the artist's 'Auld Folks' series, this piece isn't merely wall art; it's a narrative, rich as the aged whiskey the gentleman enjoys. With every stroke of 'Twilight Toasts,' you're not just hanging a painting; you're preserving history. From the stained glass that has seen centuries to the wrinkles etched with stories, this is your chance to own a slice of the past, beautifully rendered in the finest watercolors. Don't let another sunset pass without 'Twilight Toasts' on your wall. Invite the warmth of a vintage pub, the comfort of companionship, and a whisper of historical intrigue into your home. Add this timeless piece from the 'Auld Folks' series to your collection and raise your glass to a masterpiece. From the Artist: "This work is part of a series of character illustrations for a science fiction novel that I'm working on, 'Auld Folks' inspired by visiting rural pubs in the UK". *Limited Edition hand signed and numbered Giclee Prints are printed on eco-friendly, very high quality acid-free, archival 290 gsm bamboo & cotton rag. Artist's Statement: “My journey from crayon-wielding tot to IT executive and back to the embrace of brushes and pixels is a testament to life's unpredictable beauty. While my right hand may have led me to art, it's the left turns in life that have enriched my palette. In each piece of my artwork, you may find a satirical ode, a self-effacing chuckle, and an occasional subtle reflection on the human experience. Through vibrant hues and playful subjects, I endeavor to bring a smile, provoke thought, or simply offer a whimsical escape from the daily grind.” Doug Dalrymple is a Chicago-based Artist who works with a variety of mediums. His story unfolds amidst the dirt roads and cornfields of Clive, Iowa, where he was born and raised. His journey into the realm of art began early, thanks to a congenital hyper-growth defect in his right hand. To aid his fine motor development and enhance his writing skills, his mother introduced him to the tactile world of art using crayons, pencils, chalkboards, and tempera. Despite her attempts to mold him into a lefty, Doug's creative spirit danced to its own rhythm, and he is not even a little bit ambidextrous. His mother, despite being a single parent, orchestrated private watercolor lessons with his junior high art teacher, igniting a flame for art that would burn for a lifetime. Doug's artistic explorations flourished at West Des Moines Valley High School, where he delved into a wide array of mediums - from graphite, charcoal, and watercolor to the tactile delight of clay, woodcarving, and silk screening. The guidance and encouragement from his remarkable art teachers, Steve Cunningham and Gene Brown, propelled him toward envisioning a future adorned with artistic endeavors. A significant nod to his budding talent came during his senior year when he was granted a scholarship to immerse in life drawing at the Des Moines Art Center. This accolade led him to the portals of the College of Art and Design at Iowa State University. Here, his artistic repertoire expanded to embrace textiles, jewelry, and furniture design alongside his already extensive medium mastery. However, life had a different script; after three enriching years at Iowa State, Doug transitioned into restaurant management, married, and started a family. ‘Starving Artist’ wasn’t gonna cut it, and as fate would have it, his intrigue with computers and electronics veered his path toward the technology frontier in the early 1980s.
