I am primarily a figurative artist residing in Northern California and work with oil, pastel, charcoal and acrylic as my mediums of choice. My approach when creating a piece is to capture an emotion within the gesture and expression of the subject and to enhance the overall feel to the piece with color choices and the surrounding narrative that is included in the artwork. I want the viewer to feel that there is more to the story and contemplate what that might be. My passion is addressing women’s issues within my art but I also strive to show strength, hope and intelligence in the subjects that I portray.
