ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A little sketching - finally - while walking the Storr with Josie and Ed on the East coast of Skye yesterday. While the kids ate lunch I sketched, then sent them to the base so we'd have a sense of scale, and gain a wee bit more sketching time. I understand the geology of the lava rock, and how it could happen scientifically/meteorogically but it still strikes me as being just a bit unlikely. And yet there it stands. Just this massive piece of unlikeliness, like an FU to all the bookmakers. I mean really, what are the odds? Hell of a day out. It was supposed to rain. On facing pages in a sketchbook. Drawn in-situ.
