Contact us.Claudio Köppel is a contemporary Swiss artist and graphic designer who actively works as a painter and draftsman. His interdisciplinary art seamlessly explores the dynamic tension between figuration and abstraction, moving fluidly between abstract and figurative styles. Painting and drawing have formed the foundation of his creative expression since childhood. Alongside acrylic painting, he focuses extensively on drawing and creating small-format watercolor paintings. He combines his deep visual expertise from graphic design with continuous artistic development, regularly attending evening schools and specialized courses both in Switzerland and abroad. Beyond works on canvas and paper, his versatile portfolio also encompasses sculptures and wall objects.
In his artistic practice, Claudio dedicates himself to making the unseen visible. His works serve as visual analogies for complex states, associations, and constellations inspired by physics, biology, and psychology.
The core of his practice lies within the creative process itself and the productive discrepancies that arise between the initial concept and its final formal execution. He views the mysterious and unknown elements that surface during this transformative phase as the most fertile and exciting part of his work. Ultimately, Claudio understands his art as a form of visual poetry that translates scientific and psychological frameworks into a distinct, evocative visual language.
