About The Artwork

I completed this drawing as a preparatory study for my painting of the cherub from Ezekiel 1 ("Cherub -- Ezekiel's Vision"). In Ezekiel 1, the prophet has a vision of the divine. He sees four creatures that rabbinical scholars later deemed to be cherubim. Each of these creatures has the head of a lion on its right side, the head of an ox on its left side, and a human and eagle head (positions unspecified). They also have two wings facing down and covering their body and two wings facing up. Their legs are 'like those of a calf.'

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My goal is to create work that speaks across genres and traditions. My training in painting was in classical realism, but I work mostly in abstraction and surrealism. Regardless of genre, I balance representation with emotional communication. To me, the best paintings move their viewers without sacrificing technical proficiency, no matter how abstract or representational. You can find more of my work at www.slreichman.com.
