ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Evelyn Nesbitt (1884 - 1967) A beautiful object of desire who modeled for such artists as Charles Dana Gibson and James Carroll Beckwith and appeared on numerous advertisements, postcards, and magazine covers. She was also pursued by such notable men as John Barrymore, Robert J. Collier, and Harry K. Thaw who, under the pretense of being her benefactor, took advantage of her after getting her drunk on champagne—an act which would later get him murdered (deservedly, in my opinion) by her first husband, Harry K. Thaw. This is a pencil drawn illustration that I created for a group show entitled "Mujeres X Mujeres" here in Buenos Aires with two of my illustrator friends Andrea Toledo and Jésica Cichero. Measures 8.5 cm x 12 cm, drawn with Faber-Castell pencils on acid free paper. Exhibition photos - .html .html
