About The Artwork
Hatidže is a fascinating character from the film Medena dežela, who impresses with her authenticity, humanity, and wisdom. She lives far from civilization and takes care of her old mother and the bees, in the harsh but beautiful wilderness she survives precisely because of the honey they give her. Her world is far from ours, but she does well in it too. I chose the drawing to best capture her expression in the dark as she stares through the small box that is her window. Her beauty is really different from what we are used to, but her love for all living things makes her extremely attractive. Watch the film and you will understand what impressed me so much.
