Drawing: Chalk, Charcoal, Pencil on Paper, Other.
Horsehead Nebula is among several works inspired by space imagery. Collage elements are affixed to the lower center. The drawing is one of my personal explorations of the vastness of the universe; meditative exercises wherein there are no specific rules, other the exploration of phenomena which interest me--deep field observations in the mind's eye of astronomical objects in the furthest regions of space. The Horsehead Nebula is particularly beautiful with its vertical thrust of gaseous particles that changes in color and form when seen through various lens. The chalk dusts become trails of gasses; white dots suggest luminous spheres of plasma; measured lines leads to paths in a stellar spectra. A zigzag of white light is prominent in the central panel.
