ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This portrait I have painted in the United Kingdom between 2009-2018 . I’ve created about fifty portraits of friends( from England, Kurdistan, Sweden, Poland, US, Brasil...) and family members questioning my own Identity, tolerance, discrimination, racism as a Polish immigrant in the European Union before and during "Era of Brexit". Each portrait represents personal statement and story . Drawing of the friend. I did a photo of him in one of the Hull pubs and I decided to draw his portrait first and then paint. In dynamic temperament, there is a hidden side, a person that doesn't show because of the life and place he lives.
